The unfriend button in Monopoly GO is hiding in the least social-looking menu: the Leaderboard. If you're cleaning up old sticker contacts before the next Monopoly Go Partners Event, don't waste time digging through the Timeline, because that screen is built for activity history rather than friend management. Open the main board, tap Friends, choose Leaderboard, select the player, open their Tycoon Card, tap the orange three-dot icon beside the friendship duration, choose Remove, and confirm.
Why the Menu Feels So Hidden
The confusing part isn't the number of taps; it's the split between activity and relationships. Timeline entries show who recently interacted with your board, while the Leaderboard holds the actual friend-list controls. A player can appear in both places, but only the Tycoon Card reached from Leaderboard exposes the removal choice.
Older guides may tell you to press and hold a name. That advice doesn't match the route currently described by support information. From what I've seen, tapping the portrait or name directly is more reliable than trying random gestures, especially after an interface update. Once the card is open, look for the small orange control rather than a large button labeled plainly on the screen.

What Removal Changes - and What It Doesn't
Removing someone clears that person from your normal friends list. It doesn't undo Shutdown damage, erase past interactions, or rewrite anything that already happened on your board. It also isn't a complete solution for persistent unwanted contact; situations that need stronger separation should go through in-game support with a clear explanation.
The biggest trap involves Partner Events. An established teammate stays paired with you for that event, so removing the friendship connection won't create a free slot or let you draft a replacement. Friend List Maintenance That Actually Helps

If the Option Still Isn't There
Back out to the board, close Monopoly GO completely, and reopen it before trying again. Then return through Friends, Leaderboard, and the player's full Tycoon Card. Make sure you're not viewing a Timeline entry or a partial profile. If the orange dots still don't appear, contact support and describe the exact menu path you followed. Keep the list tidy, but don't rush the tap-one mistaken removal can put a useful sticker contact or dependable event teammate back on your search list.
